Enjoy first class accommodation, excellent food and a warm welcome at the Black Swan Hotel. Our charming, 17th century (Grade II listed) Inn is found in the historic town of Middleham, North Yorkshire.

With its open log fire, oak beamed bar and friendly service, you can relax and enjoy Theakstons legendary ales and fresh local produce cooked to order in our restaurant and bar.

Our attractive bedrooms, single, doubles, family room and four-posters, all have private bathroom, remote control colour television, tea/coffee making facility and direct dial telephone.

Outside we have a delightful private South facing beer garden where on summer mornings breakfast can be taken. The garden almost backs onto the Castle and on summer evenings is floodlit so you can have an 'al fresco' meal, whenever the weather permits.

Bed & Breakfast

Close to great walking countryside and in the heart of a racehorse training centre this is the perfect place for a country break with a difference.

Middleham is famous for its racing industry and each morning strings of racehorses can be seen passing through on their way to the local gallops on the Moor. Why not combine your visit with a trip to the races? There are nine racecourses within an hour or so and we may even be able to arrange a stable visit for you.

The Black Swan Hotel has featured in the Good Pub Guides and the AA Good Pub guide for several years now and has also featured in the Hidden Places of Yorkshire guide book.
